Yevgeny Ryzhov, an electrician in the Service for Equipment Preventive Maintenance, Repair and Upgrade of JSC “Afrikantov OKBM” (part of Atomenergomash, ROSATOM’s Mechanical Engineering Division) became a prize-winner in the 3rd Open Industry-wide Championship of the IEK Group of Companies according to WorldSkills standards.
The event was held in Moscow on the site of P.M. Vostrukhin College of Communications
In the “Electrical Mounting Operations” competence, young professionals competed from such companies as Evraz, Sibur, Norilsk Nickel, Smolensk NPP, Balakovo Atomenergoremont, Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant, RFNC-VNIIEF, Kazan State Power Engineering University and others.
The competition task included the mounting of a circuit for the power supply equipment, electric lighting equipment and information networks, adjustment work, as well as programming, setup and adjustment of the ONI logic relay.
In the championship, OKBM was represented by a team consisting of two participants Yevgeny Ryzhov and Vasily Tarasov, as well as expert Sergey Govorukhin. According to the competition results, Yevgeny Ryzhov took the third place.
The industry-wide electric mounting championship is an eliminatory stage that enables one to qualify for the 5th National Championship of Cross-Industry Professions, WorldSkills Hi-Tech, which will take place in Yekaterinburg in October.
As part of the competition, a training session was conducted for the national teams of Russia and Belarus with participation of international experts from Switzerland and Brazil.
